HELIO CDAW-3 Workshop Schedule
|
|
The goals of the CDAW will be achieved in three working groups whose members
will share both their specific science and technical expertise.
The working groups will test the capabilities of the HELIO
infrastructure in dealing with science use cases pre-selected from the
literature in different heliophysics domains
ranging from solar events (flares, CMEs, etc.)
to interplanetary (iCMEs, SIRs, SEPs, etc.)
and planetary ones (iCMEs, Shocks, etc.).
Each group is expected to analyse the science workflow scheme and to use
HELIO to search for the identified events using the HELIO Front End
(HFE) and/or independently via the independent HELIO services
including the HEC, HFC, CXS, ILS, etc.
The goals of this work are manifold:
- It will allow the evaluation of functionality and pitfalls of the system and determine
what changes are required to ensure that HELIO is of greatest use to the Heliophysics Community.
- It will allow the identification of
inconsistencies in the data and timings with respect to the published ones
- It will allow the evaluation of the propagation model(s) to ascertain
how well the predict arrival times
and which key information is required to get consistent results.
(For example, the CME longitude is a key input parameter, but is
not always provided in the catalogues;
similarly, the start time of the CME is typically the time of the first observation,
whereas the CME onset time would be much more significant).
